The God Who Sees

In my limited spiritual experience, I have found there is a big difference between sitting in church on Sunday morning agreeing with the sermon, and actually walking with the Lord. I like to dress up and attend church! I love seeing my friends. Our children always look so handsome, especially in their Christmas outfits, and I have to be honest…why would I keep coming to the same church if I didn’t like what the pastor said? Yet, when God became real to me I wasn’t dressed up. I didn’t look nice, and I wasn’t comfortable. My friends weren’t around. The only way I could have learned to trust my heavenly Father, was to be put in a position where I had no other options. Many people have let me down or broken promises, but my Jesus hasn’t broken a promise in over 4,000 years, and he promised to take care of me (Isaiah 41:10).

One of my industry competitors took my largest farmer one year! This shady con-artist told my farmer he’d scout his fields for free! I remembered Psalm 46:10,

Be still and know that I am God.

I told my Lord I recognized he knew this was coming long before I did. I prayed. I acknowledged the visions the Lord had given me and said, Lord, you have given me this work for my hands to do. So it’s yours. I lay it on your altar. Just show me what you want me to do, and I’ll trust you with the rest.

Two days later, my boss called me. With eight fields less to scout that year, I managed to actually sell about $10,000 more in services, and gain a couple of new customers! I ended up more profitable for 2018, with less hard labor to do, and my boss was happy!

All glory and honor and praise go to the God who sees me, cares about my situation, and provides for those who are His! Like I said in previous posts, I’m not special. I’m not unique. I’m not “holier than thou“. Our loving Lord loves you just as much as he loves me. He sees you just as he sees me. He wants to do for you what he has done for me. Our heavenly Father knows the position you are in, and he already knows how you make it through, and what you’ll be doing this time next year. He’ll take care of you if you’ll trust him enough to obey him. I’m glad I did.

But I will rescue you on that day, declares the Lord; you will not be given into the hands of those you fear. I will save you…because you trust in me, declares the Lord.

Jeremiah 39:17-18

She gave this name to the Lord who spoke to her: You are the God who sees me…

Genesis 16:13
