Divine Physician

A friend was working cattle with his family when his four year old boy got bashed in between a fence and a gate by a cow. The impact crushed the boy’s skull, and caused internal bleeding and pressure on his brain. My daughter and I, along with our church congregation all prayed diligently for the boy’s complete healing.

Within one week, surgery had been done on the boy to relieve pressure on his brain. According to the doctors, the procedure went better than expected. The doctors said the boy would probably have to relearn some things, like potty training, but he should be okay.

One week after that, the boy’s dad reported that his son was moving and playing well. They did not have to teach him anything the boy knew before the accident. We saw this boy and his family two years later, and we couldn’t even tell he had an accident!

Our Lord not only hears our prayers, but he cares. I am so thankful God appoints some to be doctors, but even more thankful our Lord can go beyond what our doctors can, and heal us completely. After all, God promised us in his word,

Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits-who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases…Psalm 103:3.
