Fourth and Best?

This may seem like a long list of what I call victory verses. However, after reading this list is there any question about God’s will for your life? He wants you to have victory! Granted, there are some conditions to having that victory, like living rightly and obeying him. Still, what parent rejoices when their kids are suffering? Okay, I have to be honest. If my children get honery and misbehave, then they suffer from the consequences of their actions, I rejoice a little! But honestly, all good parents have a hard time seeing their kids suffer. What makes us think God is not affected when we suffer as well? He is. Our suffering breaks his heart. It breaks his heart even more if our suffering could have been avoided by listening to him. It’s not too late. We can still listen to him. We can still claim these verses for ourselves!

  • Proverbs 2:7, 8 – He holds success in store for the upright, He is a shield to those whose walk is blameless, for he guards the course of the just and protects the way of his faithful ones.
  • Isaiah 3:10 – Tell the righteous it will be well with them, for they will enjoy the fruit of their deeds.
  • Isaiah 7:9 – If you do not stand firm in your faith, you will not stand at all.
  • Isaiah 40:31 -…but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
  • Isaiah 43:2 –  When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.
  • 2 Timothy 4:18 – The Lord will rescue me from every evil attack and will bring me safely to his heavenly kingdom. To him be glory forever and ever. Amen.

Let our lives be according to your word, Father. Let us understand the importance of obeying you, and release our desire to understand about you. Open our eyes to see you, our ears to hear you, and our hearts to love you. We don’t have our authority figured out yet, but protect us until we do. You know exactly how it feels to lose a child, Father, and it’s in his precious name we pray. Amen.
