Recently I was accused of making “sweeping statements” without providing viable supporting references. Although this accusation is not a surprise to me (1 Peter 5:8), my fiery Irish spirit relishes the opportunity for a good debate. In addition, I believe God allowed this minor attack on my character (Job 1:8) because he knew there was something inside of me that needed purging. Also, what happens in our lives can teach us and strengthen us. God can use it for good if we let him, according to Romans 8:28. I believe my Lord is teaching me how to defend my faith. After all, in 1 Peter 3:15 we are urged to be prepared to give an answer for the hope that we have. So I present to you a list, not an exhaustive one by any means (1 Kings 4:29-33), of resources that I believe prove scientifically the truth of God as creator and the accuracy of the Bible.
Not everyone is going to believe the information here. There will be many who doubt, find loopholes, and simply claim the information has been doctored to support a certain position. Again, this is not a surprise. God knew long ago there would be many who wouldn’t believe, which is why he told us in Scripture that his Spirit is the one who reveals truth to those who belong to him. Those who are of the world see unclearly, as through veils (John 14:17, 2 Corinthians 3:14, 4:3, and 1 John 4:6).
Our heavenly Father loves us immensely, and gave us astounding evidence of his superior intelligence, immeasurable power, and endless creativity. Doesn’t every research paper list the names of the scientists at the top of the publication? Doesn’t every artist brand their work? Why wouldn’t we expect our Lord to do the same? Has anyone in the history of our planet come close to doing what the Lord has done? Show me. That is why the Bible rightly says,
You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being. Revelation 4:11
In order to use Scripture as a reliable resource, here is why I believe the authority of the Bible:
- God cannot lie – 1 Samuel 15:9, John 17:17, Titus 1:2,
- Scripture is God-breathed – 2 Timothy 3:16,
- Jesus said everything written would be accomplished – Matthew 5:18,
- God will never contradict Scripture – Galatians 1:8-9 and 1 John 4:1-6,

- Cold Case Christianity by former atheist J. Warner Wallace,
- The writings of Josephus, Romano-Jewish scholar and historian, best known for his book, The Jewish War,

Finally, I present to you just a little bit of the scientific evidence for a few of the “stories” from the Old Testament. I looked into the story of the “missing day found by NASA”, but the claim did not provide concrete references. The nephilim were mentioned in Genesis 6:4 and Numbers 13:33. There are many more archaeological pictures of giant skeletons, but since I do not have the right to those pictures, I did not share them.
