One spring the Lord showed me a perfect example of patience and forgiveness. Our son decided he was Captain America, and in one movie Ironman nicknames Captain America, Cap. So our son told us to call him Cap.
We had forgotten to call our son Cap. Every time we forgot he cheerfully smiled and said “They call me Cap!”
Now we had forgotten to call him Cap every day for several weeks! Still our son, I mean Cap, gently reminded us of his name. Anyone else, after the third or fourth reminder would respond,
“Really!?! How many times have I told you? My name is CAP! Can you not remember anything!?!”
Not my sweet little boy, though! He is one of my perfect God-given examples of consistent, ongoing patience and forgiveness! Thank you, Father in heaven, for the visual example and daily reminder!
Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Colossians 3:12
