DISCLAIMER: I am in no way claiming to be a prophet. I have no ability to see or predict the future, and I can’t even take credit for the words I publish in my blog. I firmly believe the Lord challenged me to start this blog. I believe he wanted me to share what I’ve learned from him and have seen him do in my life. Before I write these posts, I pray and ask my Lord what he wants to say and sometimes I ask him how he wants the article worded. So if a reader receives any benefit from the words I have made public, the glory must go to God alone.
With that being said, I’d like to review the definition of the word prophecy. According to Strong’s Concordance, number 4394, prophecy is “discourse emanating from divine inspiration and declaring the purposes of God, whether by reproving and admonishing the wicked, or comforting the afflicted, or revealing things hidden…” (https://biblehub.com/greek/4394.htm). I have already made clear my writings are inspired by God, and I believe his purpose for them is to encourage and comfort. I hope the following does just that.
A few days ago, as I was spending time with my Lord one morning, he showed me a topographic map of the United States. The map was on a panel of tin, and it was filthy! The tin was scratched up and dented. It was covered in layers of dust, calcium deposits, sand, gravel and mud. It was so filthy, the map was hardly recognizable!
Next, I saw a large green and yellow watering can. Gently, water dropped from the can onto the tin map. The dust and debris quickly and easily slid off of the map. First, Florida was rinsed clean, then the East Coast. The Ohio River Valley was purified. The Mississippi River Valley was rinsed off and then the Heartland from Michigan, Wisconsin, and the Dakotas, all the way down to Arkansas, Texas, and New Mexico. The Rocky Mountain Range was gently rinsed clean and finally the West Coast of America was rinsed off. Surprisingly, the filth did not contaminate the oceans. The Atlantic, the Gulf of Mexico, and the Pacific Ocean remained pure and blue, dissolving the filth and making it disappear.
When the washing was over, drops of water remained on the map. Like dew on grass on a clear morning, light sparkled through the water droplets, making them look like gems. A large hand took a soft, fine tipped, red paint brush. Slowly, the hands brushed the borders of each state, absorbing the droplets and removing any remaining debris.
Finally, the hands took a small mister. Very fine water droplets were sprayed over the U. S. map. Each state was uniformly covered in tiny droplets that beautifully refracted God’s light. “That is the Holy Spirit,” our Lord softly spoke. The map looked beautiful and brand new!
We are filthy. We are dented and scratched up, but we can be made clean. We can be made new again. Through the cleansing power of the Holy Spirit, through God alone, the United States and the world can be saved. Let’s repent of our filth. Let’s study our leaders. Let’s pray for knowledge and discernment and then let’s exercise our God given authority!
For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age, waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works.
Declare these things; exhort and rebuke with all authority. Let no one disregard you.
