Cabin in the Woods Dream

Mom, my children, and I went on a weekend trip to the lake. I didn’t actually see the lake, but I knew it was there. The area was heavily wooded with several log cabins scattered throughout. When we walked into a cabin, the room was well lit and filled with people who were talking, drinking, and wearing dark colored clothing. The inside of the cabin had white walls and light fixtures, and only two pieces of furniture: a dark loveseat and a dark colored hideaway bed. Everyone was standing so Mom sat down on the loveseat. She began visiting with my sister and ex brother-in-law. My sister and brother-in-law were both in jammies, sitting upright under the white sheets on the unfolded hideaway bed. Everyone was laughing and talking, and there was an overall feeling of peace, happiness, and enjoyment.

Although I was peaceful and happy, I was exhausted! As my children ran into a back bedroom to play with other children, I decided to go check-in to our cabin and go to bed. It was nighttime. The weather was clear and beautiful! For some reason, I didn’t go to a main office. I just walked into another cabin that was quiet and dark, and crawled under the covers. I went to sleep with my clothes on! I woke in the daylight to teenagers standing around the bed looking down at me. I immediately covered my face and said,

Oh no. I slept in someone else’s cabin!

They did not laugh at me or tease me. Three of them were girls, but boys were present, too. I just don’t know how many teens were there. I asked the girls,

What time is it?

They replied it was 9:30. I know at that point I got up, still dressed, and left to find Mom and my children. The next thing I remember, Mom was leading the kids and me down a white well lit aisle with booth tables built into the sides of the walls. The people and their children in the booths were eating breakfast. We moved down the aisle to the back where a room opened up with individual tables and chairs. The room was bright and well lit with dark furniture and carpet. We sat down at a table with Mom on one side and my children and me on the other side. For some reason, another table was very close to ours on my son’s side. A man I did not know was sitting there with his arm on the back of my son’s chair, and his hand on my daughter’s bottom. My daughter was standing in front of her chair. For some reason, I was not disturbed by his close proximity or the location of his hand. I just calmly traded places with my daughter, and began to explain to her why the location of that man’s hand was not appropriate. I was at peace, oddly enough, and both kids were looking at me listening. That’s it.

  • Lake, water – Holy Spirit, Jesus
  • Wooded area – Psalm 1, many believers or angels
  • Dark clothing, white environment – surrounded by both believers and non-believers in a safe God-filled setting
  • Nighttime – in enemy territory, enemy is causing something
  • Faceless teenagers – angels around me watching over me
  • Three – the Trinity
  • 9: – judgment or evangelism
  • :30 – beginning of a ministry
  • Entering the restaurant – walking into a calling, a place of being filled or fed spiritually

Like the last dream he gave me, God is showing me I am in enemy territory. I am surrounded by both saved followers of Jesus, and by unsaved people. As I am beginning the calling God has for me, I am being watched over and protected by his presence and his angels. However, I am still worried about the welfare of my children. I need to let go, focus on him, and remember God is taking care of them. He is in control, and he will take care of them because my children are his. I am a great parent, but he is in charge, and I need to focus more on him than on them.

This is a partial interpretation, I believe. As I am trying to walk with the Lord, I learn so much more, especially by studying the Bible. As I learn more and see more, I go back and update my understanding of what my God is telling me through these dreams. I am definitely a work in progress, but the key there is I’m progressing. There is so much I don’t know. What do you think our Lord is trying to tell me in this one?

Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers,
but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither – whatever they do prospers.

Not so the wicked! They are like chaff that the wind blows away. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous. For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked leads to destruction.

Psalm 1
