The Last Days

My son’s class did an assignment for Christmas, and each child’s response was published in the local paper along with their class picture. The question the kids had to answer was What is the best Christmas gift you’ve ever given. Most of the children answered some kind of cool toy, homemade ornaments, or homemade calendars. All wonderful gifts! Then there was my son’s response.

My son wrote the best gifts he’d ever given were the fruits of the Spirit, love, kindness, forgiveness, and other God given qualities so rare today. He reminded the readers this season isn’t about material possessions, but the greatest gift ever given to us, life through Jesus, the Christ. As I write this, tears well up in my eyes. Could there be any greater gift to a mother than knowing her children love the Lord, and are walking with him? Thank you, Father God, for my son, and for your lesson to us through him!

In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy… Acts 2:17
