The sun was high in the sky as she got out her magnifying glass. Even though the large rock was in a shadow, the day was still bright enough she needed her sunglasses. She studied the rock under her magnifying glass, taking note of all the different particles cemented together. She felt the rock with her hands. She scratched the surface with her pocket knife and then she sniffed the giant stone. She looked down to write notes in her hard covered notebook.
When she looked up, the young lady discovered the rock was actually just a small piece of the base of Mount Rushmore. She had to step back to take in the entire view! She started walking and measured the base of the mountain. She took a few pictures, and looked down to write more notes in her notebook.
When she looked up again, suddenly the mountain was only a small part of the Rocky Mountain Range! (I know Mount Rushmore is not actually part of the Rocky Mountains.) Way too big to measure or photograph, the young lady dug several books up out of the soil and began researching the Rocky Mountain Range. As she read and took notes, she looked up from her work.
In surprise and awe, the mountain range had become just a small part of the Himalayan Mountain Range, and she could see Mount Everest looming in the background! There was just too much to study! She couldn’t contain it all, so the young lady just stood still and looked with awe on the beautiful graduation of the earth from the large rock to Mount Everest. She admired the vegetation below, the pure, white snow on top, and the sun and stars illuminating the jagged peaks. On one hand, she really wanted to look down again and see what else she could discover. On the other hand, she couldn’t tear her focus away from the beauty, the peace, and the serenity she now faced. The young lady really didn’t think she could handle more anyway…and she thought it was only a rock!
Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.
